TESS ORNSTEIN is Director of Publicity at Magnolia Pictures. Magnolia is a leading independent film distributor for nearly 20 years, and is the theatrical and home entertainment distribution arm of the Wagner/Cuban Companies, boasting a library of over 500 titles including numerous Oscar and Golden Globe nominees.

In this seminar, Tess will provide strategies, advice and feedback to filmmakers seeking distribution and publicity for completed films, as well as works in progress.

JOSHUA FRIEDMAN is a former Creative Executive at Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, with a representation background at both ICM and Mosaic. Josh has moved into Producing with Sony International in the UK. It was also in the UK that Josh was a Creative Executive on recent films, including Michael Winterbottom’s GREED with Steve Coogan, and SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULES with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Michael Sheen, Asa Butterfield, and Margot Robbie. Josh’s TV credits include work on The OC and WEEDS. Born and raised in Toronto Canada, Josh currently lives in Los Angeles.

In this seminar, Josh will provide strategies and feedback to filmmakers seeking distribution through the studio system, as well as subsidiary independent distribution companies.

ADAM SOROTA is a senior director and production advisor at NBCUniversal Entertainment Division. Adam has launched a variety of network series and 5 major cable networks. His comedy short film "A Bathroom on Drake", featuring Jerry Springer, was awards Best Short Film at the Big Apple Film Festival. He has previously directed projects for FOX, ESPN, MTV and BET

Adam has extensive experience directing and producing in Live Multi Camera, Film, Commercial and Field production, as well as extensive experience from pitch, budgets, build and launch for Pilots, Series and Network launches.

In this seminar, Adam will provide strategies and feedback to filmmakers and series creators seeking to license their projects to TV networks and/or streaming platforms.
